Salt & Pepper Catering Website Design & Development
Salt & Pepper Catering has been one of Thunder Bay's favourite private catering companies since they began their story in 2006. They offer delicious menu options utilizing local foods and include options for gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan. They offer both pickup lunches and on-location event catering.
Challenge The Challenge
Sencia had worked with Salt & Pepper Catering to assist with technical support, design changes and content insertion on their previous website. When the time came to develop a new website, we were excited to give them a fresh, new look! Salt & Pepper Catering requested a website that would be easy to navigate, clean and be overall visually pleasing (colours, imagery and layout).
Approach The Approach
Sencia helped craft a design for Salt & Pepper Catering's website that would be minimalist, but also visually pleasing. Menus needed to be easily accessible and as condensed as possible to read on as few pages as possible when printed - which is where the SIMS built-in print feature came in handy! We were able to utilize special print-sheet styles to control the look and feel of printed menus.
We worked with Salt & Pepper throughout the development process to ensure styling, spacing and colours were all consistent.
Result The Result
Salt & Pepper Catering's website was officially launched on June 29, 2017. Their homepage features a large video background that provides visitors with a glimpse of the work behind Salt & Pepper's work, such as preparation, cooking and delivery of catered items. Their catering menus are displayed along the top and each provides a print-friendly option.
