First General is an international team of property restoration specialists that consists of over 80 locations across Canada and the USA. They provide construction and repair services that protect houses and properties from the elements; fire, flood, storm and mould.

Mountain The Challenge

Sencia Canada Ltd. had been working with First General North America since 2015, assisting with updates, security and website maintenance. In 2016 we started helping them build a social media plan for their chosen social platforms (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn). These regular updates were designed to benefit their overall brand and independently owned branches.

In 2017, First General was set to develop a brand new corporate website for the First General brand. Their original website was difficult to manage and was beginning to look outdated. The new website would need to be multi-language, responsive.

Ideas The Approach

Sencia's team started by building a list of all known First General locations, websites and associated social media accounts.

We were able to help them take control of an abandoned LinkedIn account and then helped build a brand new social account for Facebook and LinkedIn.

Once the pages were centralized, our creative team was able to help design branding for the pages, including profile images, cover backgrounds and an overall branded appearance for posts and social advertising.

Sencia worked on developing a monthly plan that included 1-2 posts and ads across all three social networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn). We used the initial list of First General social accounts to build our first audiences and then used each Canadian and American location to build a service area map that became our target audience. This target audience was used when promoting posts and helped build authentic likes, shares and comments for the brand.

Result The Result

First General currently has a monthly schedule of social media posts that targets home and property owners within their service areas. Their posts promote the First General brand as well as encourage safety and maintenance tips. All likes, shares and comments are authentic.
